Selects rebound with 10-3 comeback win

Selects vs. Predators

Thursday, June 7, 2012

The Selects tallied 10 unanswered runs to get back into the win column Thursday night, beating the Predators 10-3. The Predators drew first blood in the top of the first when Dan Mullin stroked an RBI double, cashing Matt Duggan. Thanks in part to six stranded Selects' runners in the first four innings, the score would stay that way until the top of the fifth, when RBI singles from Dan Gehl and Duggan made it 3-0.

The Selects finally got on the board in the bottom half of the inning, however, as Jamie Ridley laid down a bunt single, scoring Brad Cleasby and Brent Furtney on an errant throw. He then came in to tie the game on a Scott Clark fielder's choice and another Predators throwing error. The floodgates opened in a seven-run sixth inning, which included a two-run inside-the-park home run from Mike Brown and a two-run double by Clark, who paced the offense with a two hit, three RBI performance.

Clark also picked up his third complete game and third win of the season, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits, while striking out nine.
