Selects vs. Classics
Thursday, June 28, 2012
In their most impressive offensive outburst of the season, the Selects swept the season series from the veteran Classics Thursday night, winning 11-1. In his first start as a Select, Ty Sebastian allowed just one unearned run on five hits, sprinkling seven strikeouts over his six innings of work. Perhaps more impressively, he also paced the team's offense, going 3-4 with a double, four RBIs, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
Jamie Ridley also had a big night at the dish, going 3-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Other key contributors included Brad Cleasby, who went 2-3 with a stolen base, RBI, and run scored; Kevin Ryrie, who went 3-4 with three runs; and Reed Laughlin, who was 1-2 with a two-run double and a run scored.
With the win, the Selects improve to 5-3 on the year and sit third in the Black Division. They're back in action next week with a pair of 9:00 games against the Red Sox on Tuesday and the undefeated Diamond Jaxx on Thursday.
