Selects vs. Diamond Jaxx

The undefeated Diamond Jaxx scored early and often Thursday night, handing the Selects a 15-4 loss, while tacking on seven runs in the fifth thanks in part to some seeing-eye singles and defensive miscues from the boys in green. In his first start against his former team, Doug Hoffman allowed four runs (two earned) over five innings on five hits, three walks, and a hit-by-pitch, striking out six. Kevin Ryrie went 2-3 with two runs scored in the loss, while Scott Clark had a walk, stolen base, and two-run double in his only two plate appearances.
The Selects (6-4) are back in action with two games next week, Tuesday at 9 against the Smoke (7-6-1) and Thursday at 7 against the Bulldogs (4-8).
