Ty Sebastian named to junior men's national team

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

The Kitchener Selects would like to congratulate Ty Sebastian on being named to the 2012 Canadian Junior Men's National Team, which will travel to Argentina for the Junior Men's World Championship in November.

In his first season as a Select, Sebastian appeared in seven games, hitting 0.500 with two home runs, seven RBIs, six runs scored, and two stolen bases. In 11 innings on the mound, he went 1-0 with a 3.82 ERA and 11 strikeouts.

As a member of the Wiarton Red Devils, Sebastian hit 0.385 at the Junior Canadian Championships in Owen Sound earlier this month and was named the tournament's all star second baseman. At only 19 years of age, he still has two years of eligibility at the junior level and we're confident that many more honours await him in a very promising fastball career.
