Strong Core Returns for 2015

Sunday, May 3, 2015

After a very successful 2014 campaign ended with a sweep at the hands of the Diamond Jaxx in the KFL Finals, the Selects stood pat this offseason and enter the 2015 year with the same returning core - though jack-of-all-trades Dan Clark and veteran outfielder Reed Laughlin have both been shelved with significant injuries. Shayne Riepert, Scott Clark, and Chad Fink will look to continue their success in their third year together as the Selects' pitching staff.

The KFL, meanwhile, has undergone some shifts, saying goodbye to the Razorbacks and Mustangs and welcoming back the revamped Red Sox and Phillies (now known as the Athletics). The Moonshiners and Jays have merged (keeping the Jays name), leaving the league with 13 teams and doing away with divisions. The top eight squads will make the A-side playoffs, while the remaining five vie for the B-side crown. The Selects will look to extend their streak of A-side appearances to 10 years in what's shaping up to be a very competitive KFL top tier.

The squad intends to participate once again in the Woodstock (May 16-18) and Brussels (July 24-26) tourneys at the very least, and their schedule for Woodstock can be found via Al's Fastball.
