Selects vs. Bell Cartage
Thursday, June 9, 2016
The Selects went up against the undefeated Bell Cartage Outlaws on Thursday night and did little to slow them down, falling 10-1.
The game looked like it might be a lot closer in the early going, as Scott Clark and Kyle Crawford kept things scoreless through two, with Kevin Ryrie's two-out single in the top of the third marking the game's first hit. But things unravelled in a hurry in the bottom of the third, when the Outlaws turned two Selects' errors, two walks, and four hits into a 6-0 advantage.
The Selects broke Crawford's shutout in the fourth, when Darren Strickland singled, stole second, and scored on a two-out single from Tyler Sager, but that was as close as they would get. Two-run homers from Tim Dubois and Corey Way rounded out the Outlaws' lopsided victory.
MVP: Darren Strickland, 1B
