Doug Hoffman struck out 11 in just five innings of one hit ball, leading the Selects to their second straight victory, this time a 2-0 triumph over the Black Sox.
Hoffman was relieved in the 6th by veteran Rod Fevreau, who made his first appearance of the season for the Selects. Rod allowed no runs and struck out two in his two innings of work.
The Selects got their only two runs in the third inning when Glen Hall cashed Jamie Hickling and Brad Cleasby on a two out double to the gap in right centre. Those two runs would prove to be all the Selects would need as they once again rode Hoffman's arm to victory.
