The Selects certainly picked a bad time for a slump. Already down 1-0 in the best-of-five KFL Final, the Selects delivered their worst defensive performance in recent memory, allowing nine unearned runs in a 10-0 Game 2 shellacking despite Doug Hoffman allowing just three hits over five innings.
Mel Ross allowed three hits and four walks over six shutout innings, striking out six for his second win of the series. Brent Furtney, Mike Brown, and Dan Fogal notched the lone hits for the Selects.
Game 3 goes Wednesday night, with the Selects needing a win to extend their season.
