Selects Drop Kings

Selects vs. Kings

Thursday, July 28, 2011

The Selects are now one win away from clinching a playoff position after dropping the Kings 9-2 on Thursday night. Doug Hoffman picked up his fourth win of the season, allowing two runs (one unearned) on six hits while striking out six, as the Selects improved to 12-7 on the year.

Kevin Ryrie continued his hot stick to pace the offense, going 4-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored, while Zack Anstett had a break-out game, going 3-4 with an RBI and two runs. The Selects also got multi-hit efforts from Scott Clark (2-4, run) and Mike Brown (2-5, 2B, ROE, 3 RBI, 2 SB, run) in the win.

With only one game on the schedule for next week, the Selects look to avenge an early season loss to the Black Sox and, in the process, take aim at the #2 seed in their division. Game time is 9:00 Wednesday night in New Dundee.

MVP: Kevin Ryrie, SS
