Monday, May 9, 2011

The Selects rode strong pitching and defense to a 4-0 win in their season opener over the Puslinch Phillies.

Scott Clark scattered three hits and five strikeouts over five shutout innings, before giving way to Doug Hoffman, who closed the young Phillies out with two hitless innings.

Kevin Ryrie provided more than enough offense for the win, going 3 for 3 with an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Jamie Hickling added two RBIs, while Glen Hall and Brad Cleasby scored the remaining runs.

The Selects look to start 2-0 on Thursday as they battle the Black Sox.
