With the final preseason KFL meeting in the books and the glacial discomfort of the offseason months giving way to more habitable temperatures, the official KFL 2011 schedule has been released.
Despite the loss of the Cambridge Reds, the league has welcomed three new young teams to its ranks, growing its membership to its highest in the last decade at 16 teams. And the Kitchener Selects have been tasked with welcoming one of these young squads to the league in their season opener, a 9:00 battle with the Puslinch Phillies on Monday, May 9.
Rounding out the team's divisional rivals this year will be the Barons, Black Sox, Kings, Predators, new-look Red Sox (formerly the Wizards) and a familiar playoff foe in the Diamond Jaxx, who have bolstered their line-up with a sprinkling of offseason acquisitions.
