The Selects' season came to an end Wednesday night with a 5-0 defeat to end the most successful season in Kitchener Selects history.

It was unfortunately a familiar story of the playoffs Wednesday night as the bats once again fell silent, ending the Selects thoughts of hoisting the KFL championship trophy.

Mike Brown and Kevin Ryrie collected the lone hits for the Selects, Brown reaching twice on singles and Ryrie once.

Though five runs were allowed Doug Hoffman threw a gem, allowing the Selects opportunities to climb back into the game. Unfortunately when they knocked on the door the Classics simply slammed it closed.

A great season for the Selects falls just short of the ultimate goal. Fortunately, there's always next year!
