It was do or die for the Selects in game three of the best of three series on Thursday night with the winner moving on to the semi-finals and the loser's season coming to an end.
Fortunately for the Selects, the strong start continued to be an important aspect of the series as they scored all five of their runs in the first two innings and rode Doug Hoffman's no-hitter to a 5-0 victory and a 2-1 series win.
Hoffman struck out 12 over seven strong innings while allowing just two base runners - a walk in the third and an error in the seventh.
Centre fielder Mike Brown led the Selects with the bat going three-for-four with an RBI and two runs scored while Jamie Hickling put in his best effort of the playoffs scoring once while picking up three RBI on the night.
The Selects now await their opponent for the semi-finals, whether it be the Smoke or the Classics.
