Selects vs. Smoke

After allowing a run in the top of the first the Selects quickly trailed 1-0 in a tilt with the long-time rival Smoke. However, the deficit would not last long as the Selects exploded for eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the first.
Mike Brown and Reed Laughlin, the main contributors on this night each had two hits in the first, they each scored a run and had a combined five RBI in the first inning alone.
With a commanding 8-1 lead in place, the Selects turned to Doug Hoffman to shut the door. Hoffman allowed just one run on two hits the rest of the way.
The Selects added four insurance runs in the 5th and, riding the arm of Hoffman, would cruise to the 12-2 victory.
